This battle took place on 29 June 1694 when a force of 9 French ships, under Jean Bart, defeated a Dutch convoy, which had earlier that month been captured from the French, and the 8-ship escorting force, under Hidde de Vries. 2 neutral Danish ships and 1 Swedish ship were with the convoy.
