- Teachers from across the country will gather in Bangkok to protest against the planned transfer of schools run by the Education Ministry to Local Administrative Organisations. The transfer is part of decentralisation as appear in the Constitution. (The Nation)

- Thailand's Pharmaceutical Organization will produce Oseltamivir, H5N1 antiviral drug, with ingredients imported from India. The Public Health Ministry is also negotiating with France, Japan, and China to produce influenza vaccines in the country. (The Nation)

- Bangkok Governor Apirak Kosayothin announces that PM Thaksin Shinawatra gave the green light to Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's plan to extend the Skytrain route from Taksin Bridge to Thon Buri. (The Nation)

- The 2nd summit of ACMECS ends successfully. The agreements between five member countries include many area of cooperation. Thailand has also pledged to contribute 100 million Baht (2.5 million US dollar) to a regional fund on combating H5N1. The 3rd summit will be held in Vietnam in 2007. (TNA)
- South Thailand insurgency: The Fourth Army Area Commander announces that martial law has been applied in the districts of Chana and Thepha of Songkhla province as the insurgents have attempted to expand the target territory to these districts which border three troubled provinces. (TNA)
- The government's spokesman, Suraphong Suebwonglee, denies a report by The Washington Post that Thailand has hosted one of CIA's black site prisons around the world for terrorist suspects. The Nation
- South Thailand insurgency: Bombs exploded last night in Narathiwat Province. Collapsed power pole leading to widespread blackout for three hours. A dozen explosives were also found and defused in other places around the city. (Bangkok Post) (TNA)

- Natthee Jitsawang, director-general of the Corrections Department, reveals plan to build a prison similar to Alcatraz for long and life-sentence prisoners on a remote island off Rayong Province. (The Nation)
- Thailand is hosting the second Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit with more than 50 representatives from five member countries (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam). (NNB)
- Commerce Ministry of Thailand announces that inflation rate in October surged 6.2% from a year earlier, the highest in seven years. (Bangkok Post)
