Travelers Rest (Georgia)

Travelers Rest (also Traveler's Rest) is a early tavern and inn located about 6 miles (10 km) east of Toccoa, Georgia. It was designated a National Historic Landmark on January 29, 1964.

Travelers Rest was built by Major Jesse Walton, soldier in the American Revolution and in conflicts with American Indians. In 1833 it was purchased by Devereaux Jarrett as part of his plantation.

Travelers Rest Historic Site is operated by the State of Georgia.
