Disambiguation pages exist to clarify confusion where two or more similarly named articles exist - for example, if two famous people have the same name. Ideally, Wikipedia articles should not link to disambiguation pages; links should go directly to the appropriate, correct article instead.

How to help

  1. Pick a disambiguation page to fix from the list below.
  2. Visit the target disambiguation page.
  3. Click on the What links here link in the "toolbox" on the left-hand side of the page.
  4. For each of the pages you see there, visit that page and change the link that goes to the disambiguation page to a link to one of the articles listed on the disambiguation page. The most important thing is to fix articles in the main namespace; "Talk:", "User:", and "Wikipedia:" administrative pages do not necessarily need to be fixed.
  5. Please remember: it is more important to disambiguate correctly than to disambiguate fast. Make sure you make the best choice; if you're not sure, leave a note on the talk page and let someone who is sure fix it.
  6. Occasionally, for instance when they are repeated, links can simply be removed. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (links). Take care not to remove useful links, though.
  7. If you fix all the main namespace links to that disambiguation page, please strike it (using <s></s>) from the list below, and add it to the list at Wikipedia:Disambiguation pages maintenance.

Sometimes, if all or most of the links refer to one meaning of the article name, it may make more sense to redirect the disambiguation page to that article, and perhaps set up a disambiguation block. See Wikipedia:Disambiguation for more details.

It may help to visit the disambiguation page but not the pages it links to, or clear your browser's cache after visiting them. That way, links to the disambiguation page will show up in a different colour (as visited links) and therefore be easier to pick out.
