Dick Herr

Dick Herr has been involved in the Quarter Horse industry since 1964. Prior to that time he was involved in rodeo. He was a NIRA and RCA bull rider during the years from 1960 to 1972. He took up team roping around 1980. Upon his  graduation from the University of Wyoming in 1964 with a B.S. in Animal Husbandry, he accepted the job of being the breeding manager at C.T. Fuller's, Willow Brook Farms in Catasauqua, PA. He managed the breeding programs of Joe Cody, Doc's Benito Bar, Okie Leo Money, Corona Cody, Hardy's Jessie and numerous other prominent Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred stallions. During his 28 years at Willow Brook, he also started two year olds in reining and trained some roping horses.

Dick was an approved judge for the AQHA, NRHA and NSBA for many years. He is a member of the AQHA, NCHA, a life member of the NRHA and a gold card holder of the PRCA. 

In 1993, Dick moved to Gainesville, Texas to become the manager of Main River Quarter Horses, owned by Johannes Orgeldinger from Germany.

Dick has been married to his wife Kendall since 1963. Kendall is a world famous Labrador Retriever breeder, owner of Dickendall Labradors. They have two daughters, Cody and Kelby. Cody lives in Marietta, OK. She is married to Shane Wilson, of the Polo Ranch. They have a son, Shane Jr. and a daughter, Demi. Kelby lives in Northampton, PA with her son Dylan.
