Quercus graciliformis
Fagaceae (black oak group)
Graceful Oak, named for its slender, arching branches, is found only in the Chisos Mountains in west Texas and a few miles southeast in Mexico. It grows above 5,000 feet, usually on canyon floors, associated with a high water table. Some botanists believe it is a variation of Mexico's Q. canbyi, to which it is closely related.
