This is the put-in at Kennedy bridge - little more than a ditch below the "parking area" at the east end of the bridge.

When I first got there and was scouting the water a husky fella packed into an ancient and beat-up Nissan 4 door stopped to say howdy and see what was up. His car was crammed with phone books he was delivering. He confirmed I was in the right spot to put-in and when I expressed concern about the current and whether I would be able to get very far going against it he looked at me with distain and assured me I would have no problem. He even offered to set up a shuttle for me which declined.

Shortly after that a newish macho-mobile came tearing down the road and whipped in the spot next to me. The doors flew open and I was assaulted by a barrage of heavy metal and flung cigarette butts. The two 20 somethings started unpacking rods and tackle boxes. I shot the breeze with them for a few minutes and then hit the water.
