With the communications down, Ash sits and waits until he can actually see the landing party return. When they arrive at the airlock, he goes to meet them on the other side of the airlock door. |
They are decontaminated inside the chamber. |
Ash listens to a heated conversation between Ripley and Dallas. |
Dallas says they need to get Kane inside, as an organism has attached itself to his face. Ripley, obeying correct quarantine procedure is refusing to open the airlock and let them back on board. |
She refuses and tells Dallas that if he were in her position, he would do the same thing. |
Ash breaks the deadlock, breaks a direct order, and breaks quarantine procedure. He opens the airlock door. |
Ripley can't believe what Ash has just done. She is not happy at all, but keeps quiet about it for now. |
They get Kane to the infirmary and start work on removing the alien life form. |
They see the creature for the first time. |
Ash discovers that if they touch it, the grip it has on Kane's neck gets tighter. |
Parker rhetorically asks the other crew members "How come they don't freeze him?", and then shouts it to Ash and Dallas. He gets no answer. |

They scan Kane in an attempt to see what exactly the alien is doing to him. They find it has something down his throat and they assume it's feeding him oxygen. |
Dallas makes it clear that he wants to get it off of Kane. Ash points out that they know nothing about "It" and shouldn't be too hasty. Dallas assumes full responsibility and tells Ash to remove it. |
Ash is ready to surgically remove one of the creature's fingers. He explains to Dallas where he is going to cut. |
He cuts the flesh and instantly thick yellow blood squirts out of it. |
The blood hits the floor and begins to melt through the deck. |
Dallas leaves the infirmary telling the others that they have got to find the spill and stop it before it eats it's way through the hull. |
One deck below, they find where it came through. |
But it's gone through to the next deck. |
Parker finds the hole in the next deck down, He tells the others "Don't get under it, don't get under it!!" |
Dallas uses Brett's pen and discovers that it seems to be stopping. He compares the effect to molecular acid. |
The captain gives Brett his pen back, but he doesn't seem to know what to do with it. |
