"Anirama" sounds like some kind of a zoo, but there were no animals
kept here -- no living ones, anyway. Anirama was a museum of animation,
consisting of close to one hundred three dimentional animated figures, most
illustrating nursery rhymes or circus acts. Parade float and display designer Van A. Olkon was the moving force behind the museum and the creator of these complex, mechanical automatons. Olkon was about to be outclassed by another tinkerer in animation, however, who was busy at the same time inventing audio-animatronics: Walt Disney. Anirama could be found at the corner of Biscayne Blvd. and Broad Causeway at 123rd Street in North Miami.
