Rosenberg is a city located in the U.S. state of Texas within Fort Bend County and is part of the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown Metropolitan Area. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 24,043. Updated census projections from 2002-2003 place the population near 30,000.

Geography
Rosenberg is located at 29°33'9" North, 95°48'18" West (29.552388, -95.804899)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 55.1 km² (21.3 mi²). 55.0 km² (21.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.05% is water.
Demographics
As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there are 24,043 people, 7,933 households, and 5,973 families residing in the city. The population density is 436.8/km² (1,131.7/mi²). There are 8,438 housing units at an average density of 153.3/km² (397.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 65.69% White, 8.53% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.38% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 22.17% from other races, and 2.81% from two or more races. 54.96% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 7,933 households out of which 41.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.4% are married couples living together, 15.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% are non-families. 20.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.00 and the average family size is 3.48.
In the city the population is spread out with 30.9% under the age of 18, 10.8% from 18 to 24, 30.0% from 25 to 44, 18.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 30 years. For every 100 females there are 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 95.2 males.
The median income for a household in the city is $35,510, and the median income for a family is $39,965. Males have a median income of $28,723 versus $21,945 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,814. 16.1% of the population and 13.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 20.7% of those under the age of 18 and 12.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.

Rosenberg is served by the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District.
