A MILLENNIUM COMMUNITY
Honor the Past
-- Imagine the Future  --  Special Projects

August 1,2000
Congratulations on the selection of your community as an official Millennium Community.  This is an exciting moment in human history -- the beginning of a new century and the next millennium.  In the summer of 1997 the President and First Lady created the White House Millennium Council to encourage all Americans to mark this milestone in meaningful ways.  we are delighted that you are planning community projects that will reflect the Millennium Council's theme to:

"Honor the Past -- Imagine the Future."

Your community's plans for commemorating the millennium can serve as an example for the rest of the nation.  Your local leadership will play a vital role in our national celebrations.  On behalf of the President and First lady, I send my congratulations to you and to the citizens in your community.
 Sincerely yours,
Ellen McCulloch-Lovell             Director:  White House Millennium Council

Honor the Past
The Post Millennium Commission will recognize the outstanding efforts of Organizations and Agencies that have and are doing so much to enhance the Quality of Life here in Post, since "The Mill Closed" in 1982.  Stories of these contributions will be exhibited in the City Hall and these groups will be honored appreciation certificates from the City of Post.  Afterward the exhibit will be added to the permanent collections at the Garza County Historical Museum.

Imagine the Future
Envisioning the future is open to everyone.  Organizations, Agencies, and Individuals are urged to write and bring projects and programs to be a part of a new exhibit.  Comments are welcome and the information and data will be useful to the City and County for future planning.

Look on the "Organization Page" for information gathered on each organization
