Bergur Sigurbjörnsson (born May 20, 1917 died July 28, 2005) Educated in Business in University of Iceland and in Economics in Stockholm University. Founder of the weekly magazine Frjáls Þjóð Free Nation (Iceland) in 1952, it's first editor and once in a while, at last in 1967, then supporting Hannibal Valdimarsson's run for Althing as independent of parties. Founding member of Þjóðvarnarflokkurinn The National Preservation Party (Iceland) in 1953 and a member of Althing for that party 1953-1956.

Was opposed to Iceland beeing NATO member and against American occupation of Iceland in 1951.
