The Coptic Catholic Church is an Alexandrian Rite church sui juris of the Catholic Communion. Historically, Coptic Catholics represent a schism from the Coptic Orthodox Church which is now under the jurisdiction of the Vatican. The current Coptic Catholic Patriarch of Alexandria is Stéphanos II Cardinal Ghattas.
