This article is part of the Wikipedia Manual of Style.

These templates are designed to provide article-to-article linking between Wikipedia and its Wikimedia sister projects.

Wikipedia encourages links to sister projects and interlanguage links when possible. However, links to sister projects should not be used excessively.

Link to sister projects should be placed under the See also or External links sections of the article.

General considerations

These are template boxes with graphical logos. To link sister projects using traditional inline text links see Wikipedia:Interwikimedia link.

Guidelines

If sister project name is Foo:

  • {{Move to Foo}} - move to foo
  • {{Foo}} - article in Foo with same title is about the same topic.
  • {{Foopar|Pagename}} - Pagename in Foo is about the same topic.
    • par is used generally in the template name to point to a concrete page name in a sister project (i.e. {{wikiquotepar|somepage}}).
