Located 38 miles east of Paris, Clarksville is the county seat for Red River County which is one of the original Texas counties.
"Victorian" describes the busienss district on the square, with the oldest structure dating from 1885. Recently designated a Texas Main Street City.

Greenville
Located 50 miles southwest of Paris on S.H. 19/24 and 224. Greenville is home to Mary of Puddin' Hill (famous for fruitcakes), antique and specialty shops, the Audie Murphy Room at the American Cotton museum.

Hugo
Located 25 miles north of Paris across the Red River. Hugo boasts Hugo Lake, Grants Bluegrass Festival, Hugo Historical Railroad and Depot Museum. Known as "Circus City U.S.A.", as many as five circuses have "wintered" there. Tours of the animals are given from November-March.

Northeast Texas Cultural Amphitheater
Located 20 minutes southeast of Paris on the Cooper Lake property, the amphitheater will feature and annual outdoor production complimented by a variety of activities throughout the year.
Construction of the theater is expected to be completed by the summer of 2003.
Other phases of the projcet will include a 1930's working farm, a Caddo Indian village, and a museum of Northeast Texas.

Red River Valley Tourism Association
