Chaparral Square Dancing Weekend
Labor Day Weekend

Dosey-do and promenade right! Swing your partners 'round and 'round! The wonderful sport of square dancing comes to Paris in a big way as Chaparral Records sponsors this big time shindig. Information contact 972-840-1274


Christmas Time in Paris

Christmas in Paris is lovely and provides a variety of holiday festivities.

Winter Wonderland is an annual event hosted by the City of Paris Parks and Recreation Department at Bywaters Park. The event provides live performances throughout December and a holiday "Movie in Park" every Friday. Information contact 903-784-9299

A Christmas Tour of Homes, sponsored by the Paris Council of Garden Clubs, is held annually the first Sunday in December and features four Paris structures decorated for the season. For information contact 903-784-2501

The Paris Fairgrounds are decorated and offer the visitor minature train rides as well as craft and concession booths. The entire season is kicked off by the annual Christmas Parade with the winning floats on display at the fairgrounds. Information conctact 903-785-7971


Festival of Pumpkins
weekend before Halloween

Everything that is fall and pumpkin fun from crafts, food, live music and contests. $1,000 prize for the largest pumpkin by weight brought to the festival. Also santioned barbeque cookoff.


John Chisum Days
last weekend in April

Celebration of cattle barron John Chisum with western art, food and entertainment. Also serves as the stage for a Paris homecoming.


Paris Art Festival
Saturday of Mother's Day Weekend

Art, art, and more art... Come celebrate springtime in Paris at the Love Civic Center with professional artists from a four-state region. There are craft booths, constant entertainment, and a variety of food booths, as well as a children's corner. Information contact 903-785-5221


Red River Valley Fair & Exposition
Tues-Sat before Labor Day

A Paris tradtion since 1911, this event provides resident and visitors with five days of fun and entertainment to include livestock shows, carnival midway, live stage entertainment and overall general family fun!

Rodeos

The Lamar County Crime Stoppers Association kicks off each season with an All Police Rodeo presenting over 300 contestants, all of whom are full-time peace officers. Information contact 903-737-4111

The Paris Rodeo and Horse Club provide the CRA-CRRA sanctioned rodeo featuring approximately 300 contestants. Information contact 903-785-2522


Tour de Paris
Third Saturday in July

About 500 riders participate in this rally which provides something for all age groups and stamina: 100K, 70K, 40K, and 15K.

Rest stops, sag service and medical services are all provided along the beautiful countryside of Lamar County, which makes this one of the favoirte rides among regional cyclists.

Also includes pancake breakfast, after party with hamburgers, fresh fruit smoothies and a Tour de France watching party.

Uncle Jesse's Memorial Big Bass Classic
First Saturday in May

Great prizes for top angles include $5,000 cash, boats, and assorted equipment. Benefiting children's charities, past tournaments have set the stage for a "Duke's of Hazzard Reunion" complete with Daisy, Bo and Uncle Jesse Duke, Boss Hogg, Enos, and Waylon Jennings.
