United States Highway 4 is a United States highway that runs from Portsmouth, New Hampshire to East Greenbush, New York. In New Hampshire and Vermont it runs generally east-west; in New York, north-south. Signage changes from "East/West" to "North/South" at the Vermont/New York state line.
