San Francisco 1979 - Family photos
My First Visit Back Since Leaving The City in March of 1972
In March of 1968, Jane Rector Breiding and five of her six children fled Morgantown for San Francisco. After a short stay in Tucson, Suzi, Sutton, Michael, Wayne, and William (Bill) arrived in San Francisco. Sister Joan would arrive several months later with her boyfriend, Julian Martin.
Except for Joan and Wayne, the family left San Francisco four years later, in March of 1972. Joan never left and lives there still. Wayne eventually left but returned later to visit. Sutton, Bill, and Mom all moved back to SF for a period of time. Suzi never returned since that day in March of 1972. I have visited a number of times over the years. Now The City is left with only one Breiding, Joan.
It was not until 1979 that I returned to San Francisco, driving there in a new Subaru DL Sedan. My soon-to-be lover, Ethel Moffat, joined me on the trip.
Since that trip in 1979, I have been back at least 11 times, three of them (1996, 2014, 2022) with my beloved wife Betsy. At the bottom of this page you will find a link to those other visits.
Most of the photos below are from the 1979 visit when on an outing to Corona Heights.

We also went on an outing to Ocean Beach.

Seventeen years later, in 1996, Betsy and I took Miguel out for sushi.
Cheers!

Hiking buddy 3Sixty Bruce's most recent blog post with gorgeous photos of Sedona AZ is cleverly titled "M-m-m-my Sedona".
This got me thinking about the first time I heard the song"My Sharona" by The Knack. I was a bit taken aback to find out that was clear back in 1979. I heard it playing on a car radio while driving from San Fransciso to Marin County. 46 years ago. My, oh, my...
